Reserve Deputy Sheriff Program

Academy TrainingThe Reserve Deputy Sheriff Program is a volunteer organization of individuals who provide the Department with additional law enforcement resources to better serve the citizens of Riverside County.

A Reserve Deputy Sheriff has peace officer powers while on duty, in accordance with the laws of the State of California.

Since reserve deputies have the same powers of arrest as regular full-time deputies, they are required by law to meet the same hiring standards as full-time deputies. Use the Reserve Deputy Program links to the right Links to the Right to find out more about deputy levels and qualifications.
