On Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 at 5:55 PM, deputies assigned to the Thermal Sheriff’s Station, were working the Riverside County National Date Festival, when they received a call of a battery in the carnival area of the fair. Deputies contacted a juvenile victim, who was treated by on-site medical personnel, for injuries sustained to his face during an altercation. The victim was then transported to a nearby hospital due to the extent of his injuries. Deputies learned the suspect fled the area after assaulting the victim and was not located. Thermal Sheriff’s Station Investigations assumed the investigation and identified the suspect as a 16-year old, male juvenile, from Indio. The suspect was arrested and booked at the Riverside County Juvenile Hall.
