On Sunday, March 8th, 2020, at 8:24 PM, deputies assigned to the Thermal Sheriff’s Station, were dispatched to a business in the 85-500 block of Airport Blvd., Thermal, where an assault with a deadly weapon was reported to be occurring. On arrival, deputies detained the involved parties and learned that Sanjay Bagai, 53 of Petaluma, physically assaulted a male employee with hands, feet and a pitchfork. Although, the employee did not sustain any visible injuries, he was treated on scene by paramedics. Bagai was ultimately arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked into the county jail in Indio.
