On Sunday, March 08, 2020, at 9:24 AM, Colorado River Station (CRS) deputies responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Arson in the 25500 block of Kaiser Rd. in the unincorporated area of Desert Center, CA. Witnesses advised that Jonathan Lindstrom, 32, of Desert Center had fired a .22 caliber air rifle at his mother, and set fire to a trailer on the property.
Upon arrival, Lindstrom was contacted by Colorado River Station Deputies and Officers from the California Highway Patrol. Lindstrom was taken into custody without incident, and Cal Fire responded to extinguish the trailer fire.
While being transported to the Colorado River Station, Lindstrom attempted to kick out the rear driver’s side window of the patrol unit, causing damage in excess of $2,000 to the patrol unit.
Lindstrom was later booked at the Blythe Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, felony vandalism, and misdemeanor vandalism. Arson investigators from Cal Fire will be filing charges of arson on Lindstrom.
