On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, about 2:31 p.m., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s station responded to the area of Camino Los Banos and E. Main Street in the City of San Jacinto regarding a report of a stolen truck in the area. The victim indicated his vehicle had just been stolen and was following it in the city of San Jacinto. The vehicle was described as a white, Ford F350 lifted truck occupied by a white male.
Deputies arrived in the area and located the Ford truck traveling south on Camino Los Banos from 7th street. A traffic stop was initiated; however, the driver failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The vehicle drove toward Ramona Expressway and began heading southbound towards Florida Avenue. The pursuit covered several roadways located in the east area of the City of San Jacinto and Hemet County the vehicle ultimately drove into a front security gate located in the 44000 block of Orpington Avenue in the county area of Hemet. Sheriff’s Aviation assisted the ground units. The driver, Wyatt Richard Garfalo (23) from Hemet fled the vehicle and ran towards a storage facility. He was taken into custody by deputies shortly after being spotted in a tree.
Garfalo was booked into custody at the Larry Smith Correctional Facility for violations of 2800.2(a) CVC and 245 P.C. Please refer any questions to Sergeant Julio Olguin at the San Jacinto Sheriff’s station, 951-654-2702.
