On March 2, 2020, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Water Board, and the Riverside County Code Enforcement served six marijuana cultivation related search warrants in the unincorporated county areas of Hemet, Sage, Winchester, Homeland and Nuevo. During the service, approximately 10,422 marijuana plants, including 1,200 immature plants, were eradicated and 211 pounds of processed marijuana was collected, for a total combined weight of approximately three tons. Five firearms, (one rifle and four handguns), were collected for evidence. Two tractors and one generator were also collected. During the service of the search warrants, two containers of pesticides that are banned in California were located.

The following suspects were arrested and booked for Marijuana Cultivation:

  • 24-year-old San Diego resident James Dukeminier
  • 33-year-old Los Angeles resident Ivan Inizquez
  • 37-year-old Idyllwild resident Felipe Davila
  • 23-year-old Lake Elsinore resident Jack Bergeron
  • 57-year-old Perris resident Samuel Duran-Garcia

The goal of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is to keep all of our citizens safe while also improving the quality of life for those residing within the community. Marijuana cultivation negatively impacts the environment in many ways including diminishing and poisoning the water table and pesticides adversely affecting the health of neighboring residents. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has a zero-tolerance policy for these offenses. If you suspect drug activity in your area, please contact your local Sheriff’s Station.
