On Saturday, February 29, 2020, at approximately 3:57 P.M., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station were investigating a possible illegal indoor marijuana grow house, in the city of San Jacinto. As this incident was being investigated, a vehicle left the target residence. San Jacinto deputies conducted a vehicle stop and found additional evidence related to a marijuana grow. A search warrant was authored for the residence on Sweet Clover Loop and approximately 2713 marijuana plants at various stages of growth were located in nine makeshift grow rooms within the residence. In addition deputies collected, two digital scales, 51 lamps with ballasts, 30 fans and packaging. California Edison located an illegal electrical by-pass underneath the electrical meter. Edison estimated the theft of utilities at $65,000. Meifeng Chen, a 40-year-old resident of Arcadia was detained leaving the residence and was later transported to Larry Smith Correctional facility and booked for Theft of utilities, Marijuana cultivation and Marijuana sales.
