On Thursday, February 27th, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force completed a follow up investigation into a shooting that occurred on January 18th, 2020 in the 72000 block of Dillon Road in Desert Hot Springs. During the incident, twelve 9mm rounds were fired at a residence where adults and children were present. Gang Task Force Officers identified the suspects in the shooting as documented gang members, Randy Sanudo, 22 of Cathedral City and Victor Rodriguez, 23 of Phoenix, Arizona. Gang Task Force Officers arrested Rodriguez on February 24th, 2020 during a traffic stop at Vista Chino and Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City. Gang Task Force Officers arrested Sanudo on February 27th, 2020 at the Larson Justice Center in Indio. Sanudo was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Child Endangerment, and Witness Intimidation. Rodriguez was charged with Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Child Endangerment, and Witness Intimidation. Both suspects were booked at the Indio Jail.
