On February 18, 2020, about 3:36 PM, a deputy attempted a traffic enforcement stop of a suspected DUI driver, within the city of Coachella. The vehicle did not yield, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The pursuit terminated at Avenue 50 and Jackson Street after the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle which was collided into suffered minor injury. The suspect was identified as Froilan David Ramirez, 40 of Coachella. Ramirez was booked at the jail for felony DUI resulting in injury, felony evading and committing a felony while on bail. Ramirez was also booked for two outstanding felony arrest warrants.
