On January 30, 2020, at 11:39 AM, The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team served a property related search warrant in the 81800 block of Shadow Palm, in the city of Indio. During the search warrant stolen property was recovered that was taken from the cites of Indio, La Quinta and Palm Desert. Also recovered was a loaded unregistered firearm and ammunition. During the search warrant two juveniles taken into custody and booked into the Juvenile Hall in Indio. One suspect, Johnny Joe Vargas, 34-years-old of Indio, remained outstanding. On February 16, 2020, The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team located Vargas in the 9500 block of Etiwanda Avenue, in the city of Rancho Cucamonga. Vargas was taken into custody without incident. A Parole hold was obtained, and Vargas was booked at the county jail in Riverside.
