On Sunday, December 22, 2019, at about 1:09 PM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, San Jacinto Station, arrived at the parking lot of a business in the 1800 block of South San Jacinto, regarding a traffic collision with major injuries. Deputies located several people suffering from various injuries, along with numerous damaged vehicles. Several people were transported to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed a silver Chevy pickup truck was traveling southbound through the parking lot when it struck a vehicle traveling northbound through the parking lot. The Chevy truck continued southbound through the parking lot, striking several other vehicles, which were pushed into pedestrians. The driver of the truck was identified and interviewed. At this time, alcohol or drug impairment do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
