On Thursday, December 12, 2019, at 1:31 AM, Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff Department, responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Chevron, located in the 72-200 block of Ramon Road., Thousand Palms. A Hispanic male adult, later identified as Adrian Salinas, 24 of Baldwin Park, entered the business armed with a knife and demanded money from the cash register. Salinas took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot. No employees or patrons were injured during the robbery.
Deputies searched the area and located Salinas on Varner Road west of Ramon Road, Thousand Palms. Deputies contacted Salinas, but he attempted to run on foot. After a brief struggle with deputies, Salinas was apprehended without further incident. Salinas was arrested for robbery and he was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.
