On Monday, November 11, 2019, at 12:30 AM, La Quinta deputies responded to the 78100 block of Calle Tampico, in the city of La Quinta regarding a grand theft of a bicycle. The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation. During the investigation, it was discovered the suspect, Obed Heredia-Palomino, 28-years-old of La Quinta, was responsible for the theft of a custom-built Cult bicycle, black in color with orange accents. On November 19, 2019, the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team located Heredia-Palomino in the 52200 block of Avenida Mendoza. Heredia-Palomino was taken into custody for grand theft. During the arrest, it was discovered Heredia-Palomino was in possession of approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine, with the intent to sale. A search of a residence in the 51900 block of Avenida Mendoza was conducted and the bicycle was not located. A search warrant was served in the 53800 block of Avenida Rubio. The stolen bicycle was not located, however, additional methamphetamine, drug sales indicia and ammunition were located and seized. Heredia-Palomino was booked at the county jail in Indio.
