On Monday, August 28, 2023, La Quinta deputies responded to a single-vehicle, major-injury traffic collision involving a golf cart just after 6:00 p.m. The collision occurred at the intersection of Trilogy Parkway and Desert Rose Drive, in the city of La Quinta. The driver of the golf cart was pronounced deceased at the scene. The cause of the traffic collision is still under investigation and the name of the deceased will be released by the Coroner's Bureau. At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
