File #  I232300124

On Friday, August 18, 2023, deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff's Station followed a possible DUI driver to a fast food restaurant on the 1000 block of North State Street, San Jacinto. The driver pulled into the drive-thru to avoid law enforcement contact and fell asleep at the wheel. Deputies woke the driver, Gonzalo Hernandez, a 40-year-old resident of Murrieta, and found him in possession of a loaded firearm, over 6 ounces of heroin, over 2 ounces of methamphetamine, and over $800 cash. The vehicle had been previously reported stolen from the Temecula area. Deputies arrested Hernandez for multiple felony violations and booked at the Larry Smith Correctional Facility.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Deputy Cormier at the San Jacinto Sheriff's Station at (951) 654-2702.
