Details:
On Friday, May 19, at about 2:30 PM deputies, with the assistance of a Sheriff’s helicopter, were searching for a missing juvenile that led to the parking lot of the Boys and Girls Club, near 78-800 block of Avenue 50.
Based on the circumstances and in an abundance of caution, school administration placed two adjacent public schools on lockdown. There were no threats to the schools, students, or staff at that time.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the working relationship we have with the Desert Sands Unified School District and their ability to quickly respond to potential community threats.
