On Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 11:15 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to the 31000 block of Riverside Drive, Lake Elsinore, regarding a stabbing. Deputies arrived within minutes and located the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and losing consciousness. Deputies rendered aid until medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
Through witness statements at the scene, deputies determined the suspect fled on foot and was later located at a nearby residence in the 15000 block of Lincoln Street, Lake Elsinore. The suspect was identified as Pablo Bustamante, a 38-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore. Pablo Bustamante was arrested for attempted homicide and later booked at the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center.
