On April 19, 2023, around 10:00 pm, deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station received information from several concerned citizens about a social media post threatening potential violence at Lakeside High school, in the city of Lake Elsinore. Investigator’s from the Lake Elsinore station assumed the investigation. During the course of the investigation, with the assistance of the Lake Elsinore School District, several search warrants for electronic data were authored and served. Following the investigation it was determined there were no viable threats made towards the school. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office takes these incidents seriously and extra safety precautions were taken to ensure the safety of the students, staff and residents of Lake Elsinore. Lake Elsinore Station School Resource Officers, Special Enforcement Team, Traffic Team and Investigations provided enhanced security at the school, and the protocol is still in effect.
