Details:
On Friday, April 7, 2023, between 3:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M., deputies assigned to the Perris Station’s Special Enforcement Team, with the assistance of the Traffic Bureau, conducted an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Enforcement Operation in the May Ranch neighborhood of the city. During the operation, deputies utilized an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) and contacted several subjects riding in the hills. During their contacts, deputies educated the riders about illegal off-roading and provided them with information for areas designated for the legal use of OHV. During the operations, deputies contacted two adults and one juvenile riding their OHVs illegally on a public street and towed the OHVs for violating the California Vehicle Code.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and the city of Perris are dedicated to the safety of everyone, including community members driving on the city streets. Additionally, we want to remind our community members that operating an OHV on a public roadway is not only illegal, but it can also be dangerous. Please visit fs.usda.gov or ohv.parks.ca.gov for legal off-road locations.
