On Monday, March 9, 2020, deputies from the Hemet Station responded to the 60000 Block of Coyote Canyon Rd., in the unincorporated area of Anza in regard to a report of a battery in progress. Deputies arrived and located two females suffering from numerous injuries. Life saving measures were given to both victims; however, one of the females died at the scene. The second victim was transported to a local hospital where she underwent surgery for her injuries.
A suspect was arrested at the scene and identified as Karina Sara Moreno Valdivia, 32 years old, out of Anza. Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. There are no other suspects being sought and there are no perceived threats to the public. The names of the victims are not being released pending notification to next of kin.
