Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit continued to follow up on all available leads related to the murder of Juan Figueroa, which occurred on August 12, 2022, in the city of Moreno Valley. Investigators located and identified a 15-year-old male juvenile suspect believed to be responsible for Figueroa’s murder.
On December 14, 2022, the male juvenile was arrested and charged with murder. His identity will not be released based on his age. Details:
On August 12, 2022, deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at the 25000 block of Santiago Road in Moreno Valley. Upon deputies’ arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Deputies attempted life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful. The victim, later identified as Juan Genaro Figueroa, a 42-year old male from Moreno Valley, died at the scene from his injuries. The suspect(s) fled prior to the arrival of deputies.
