On December 8, 2022, at 7:57 AM, Moreno Valley Station deputies responded to a report of a burglary that had just occurred at a business, located in the 16000 block of Perris Boulevard, Moreno Valley. The business owner stated there were two suspects who had just entered his locked business through the roof and was able to provide the responding deputies with a detailed description of the suspects, including high quality video surveillance. Deputies checked the area and were unable to locate the suspects or the vehicle involved.
The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team(RBST) assumed the investigation and immediately began following up on all leads. About 11:30 AM, RBST located the suspect’s vehicle in the area of Cottonwood Avenue and Persimmon Road in Moreno Valley. The driver, Marcus Jerome Johnson, a 51-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, was detained without incident and was identified as one of the suspects involved in the burglary. Multiple items of evidence related to the burglary, as well as the stolen property, were located in the vehicle. Marcus was later booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on related charges, including a violation of his Post Release Community Supervision terms.
