Reporting Deputy: Sergeant Sean Liebrand
File # MV223360041
Details:
On Friday, December 2, 2022, at 6:26 AM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to an unknown trouble call for service at a hotel in the 24800 block of Elder Avenue in the city of Moreno Valley. Upon the arrival of deputies, it was determined an adult male was deceased. Deputies also located two additional female adults suffering injuries. Both females were transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The case was immediately assumed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Overdose Death Investigations and Narcotics Unit (ODIN). Early findings would indicate drugs are a factor in the death and we do not suspect foul play. A preliminary field narcotics analyzer showed a positive reading for Fentanyl from a substance found in the room. This is an active investigation and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Master Investigator James Peters at 951-955-1700.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department wants to remind citizens of the dangers of illicit narcotics, many of which may contain Fentanyl. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 100 times stronger than morphine and can cause death or serious bodily harm.
