On November 18, 2022, at 6:00 AM, members of the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT), served a search warrant at a residence located in the 68900 block of Harrison Street in Thermal. The search warrant stemmed from a narcotics investigation CCAT was conducting. During the search warrant, CCAT members located and seized a rifle, approximately one pound of suspected methamphetamine, and items indicative of narcotics sales. Arrested was Liliana Alcantar, a 34-year-old resident of Thermal, and Francisco Ibarra, a 46-year-old resident of Thermal, for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell, possession of a firearm while in possession of methamphetamine, destruction of evidence, child endangerment, and conspiracy. Both subjects were booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
