On Thursday, September 08, 2022, at approximately 7:28 AM, Deputies were attempting to capture a fleeing felon who was running near railroad tracks in the area of Bob Hope Drive and Ramon Road. The suspect, Adalberto Raygoza, a 32-year-old resident of Cathedral City, had an active felony warrant and was wanted for Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, False Imprisonment, and Spousal Abuse. Deputies abruptly stopped their patrol vehicles and chased Raygoza on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, he was safely taken into custody without incident. While apprehending Raygoza, a passing train caused damage to an unoccupied patrol vehicle which was parked near the railroad tracks. No injuries occurred as a result of this incident. Raygoza was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on several violent felony charges.
