On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, about 11:30 AM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, San Jacinto Station, responded to the 400 block of Bryce Canyon Way, regarding a major injury traffic collision. Deputies and Cal Fire arrived and located a deceased juvenile who had been struck by a truck. The driver and sole occupant of a 3500 Dodge truck with an attached utility trailer was traveling westbound on Bryce Canyon Way, when it collided into the juvenile who was riding his bicycle on the roadway. After the collision, the juvenile was pronounced deceased. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Bryce Canyon Way was closed during the investigation. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this collision. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
