On August 27, 2021, around 11:03 PM, deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Station, responded to a major injury traffic collision on Mission Blvd. and Crestmore Rd., in Jurupa Valley. Deputies arrived within minutes and located a single vehicle roll over involving two occupants. Both occupants were transported to the hospital in critical condition, and one is currently undergoing surgery.
Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle may have been traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control and collided with a curb, then a palm tree, leaving the roadway and rolling down an embankment. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The Jurupa Valley Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating.
Both directions of Mission Blvd between Crestmore Rd. and Mount Rubidoux Dr. were closed for the duration of the investigation.
