On June 3, 2021, at 5:00 AM, Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team/Gang Unit along with the Riverside County Gang Task Force and the Special Weapons and Tactics team served search warrants at multiple locations in Moreno Valley and Perris. The search warrants were related to an extensive investigation regarding the manufacturing and sales of illegal firearm parts and completed firearms. The firearm parts being manufactured and sold, known as “switches”, are used to modify a semi-automatic firearm into becoming a fully automatic firearm. As a result of the search warrants, 9 complete handguns, 5 handgun frames, 3 handgun slides, multiple high capacity magazines, three 3D printers, miscellaneous tools, several rounds of ammunition, $6,400 in U.S. currency, and 83 “switches” were located. In addition to the firearms, multiple illegal fireworks were also located and confiscated.
At the conclusion of the investigation Jalen Harris (20yrs), Jared Rouly (21yrs) and a male juvenile, all of Moreno Valley, were taken into custody. This is an ongoing investigation, for any additional information please contact Deputy Joseph Smith, Moreno Valley Sheriff Station, (951) 486-6700.
