Update:
On November 3, 2019, James Cidney Brown, a 64-year-old male from Anza, was murdered at his residence during an attempted robbery. Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit have continued to work the murder of James Brown for the last two years. Leads were developed that implicated James Max Robinson, a 40-year-old male, Jesse Robert Thurbush, a 40-year-old male, from the High Desert and Jodi Miller, a 46-year-old female, from Rancho Cucamonga, as being involved in his murder. As of April 27th, 2021, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office has charged all three suspects with the murder of James Brown. Thurbush and Robinson are currently in custody on an unrelated charge in San Bernardino County. Miller is in custody in Riverside County for Brown’s murder. Investigators believe there are additional outstanding suspects and are seeking the public’s help. Details:
On Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 7:35 AM, deputies from the Hemet Station responded to a shooting at a residence located on the 39000 block of El Toro Road, Anza. Deputies arrived at the scene and located a deceased male inside who was the apparent victim of the shooting. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. This is an active investigation and no further information regarding the homicide will be released at this time. The location was deemed an illegal marijuana cultivation site and the Sheriff’s Marijuana Eradication Team responded to the scene and confiscated all contraband on the property.
