Details:
On February 18, 2021, at 5:21 PM, Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 conducted a traffic enforcement stop at County Line Road and 7th Street in the City of Calimesa. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jeremy Novak, a forty-year-old resident of Redlands, and a gang member associate. Gang Task Force Officers confirmed Novak was driving the vehicle without a valid California driver’s license and was placed under arrest.
Gang Task Force Officers conducted a search of Novak’s vehicle. During the search, Gang Task Force Officers found several containers that contained fentanyl along with several individually wrapped aluminum foil bindles that contained fentanyl. Gang Task Force Officers located several items consistent with the illegal sales of narcotics along with methamphetamine. There was a total of twenty grams of fentanyl and over one ounce of methamphetamine located inside Novack’s vehicle. Novak was placed under arrest and booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for the following charges:
- Possession of Narcotics for Sales
- Transportation of Narcotics for Sell
The Riverside County Gang Task Force is a collaborative effort of several law enforcement agencies with the goal of combating criminal street gangs. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Regional Gang Task Force is one of six teams which compose the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Gang Task Force is staffed with members from the Banning Police Department, Beaumont Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
