On February 10, 2021, at 7:00 A.M., deputies assigned to the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT), Coachella Valley Narcotic Task Force (CVNTF), and the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET), served a search warrant at three residences located in the 51-700 block of Torres Orduno in the city of Coachella, the 84-700 block of Calle Nogal in the city of Coachella, and the 47-900 block of Luzon Street in the city of Indio. The search warrant stemmed from a shooting investigation CCAT was conducting. During the search warrant service, four rifles, two shotguns, three handguns, a silencer, firearm magazines, and a large amount of ammunition was located and seized. Manuel De La Torre, 22 of Coachella, was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a California prohibited firearm, possession of a California prohibited silencer, and violation of probation. De La Torre was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio.
