Update:

Moreno Valley, Calif. – On February 7, 2021, Moreno Valley Sheriff Station deputies conducted a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) saturation patrol. The following drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol:

  • Cameron Sousa, 32 years old, from Moreno Valley.
  • Teresita Presley, 45 years old, from Moreno Valley.
  • Diana M. Holmes, 33 years old, from Moreno Valley.

Drivers charged with DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.  The Riverside County Sheriff Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving or ”operating heavy machinery,” which includes driving a car. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

The Moreno Valley Sheriff Station will be holding a series of DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year to keep our roadways safe.

Funding for this DUI Patrol was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Say No to Drinking and Driving: Enjoy the Super Bowl at Home This Year

Moreno Valley, Calif. – Whether it’s the commercials, halftime show or the game itself, the Moreno Valley Sheriff Station is reminding everyone that we are all on the same team when it comes to being safe on Super Bowl Sunday.

Super Bowl is Sunday, Feb. 7, and the Moreno Valley Sheriff Station will have additional deputies on patrol over the Super Bowl weekend looking for drivers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

“If you are watching the game at home and plan to have a drink or two, stay at home Sergeant Joe Narciso said. “Have a family member who hasn’t been drinking go out on your behalf or have your food delivered.”

The Riverside County Sheriff Department reminds the public that alcohol is not the only thing that impairs and may lead to a Driving Under the Influence. Prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications and marijuana may affect your ability to drive safely. Do your research and understand how a drug affects you before deciding whether or not you are OK to drive.

Funding for Super Bowl Sunday enforcement is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
