Details:
On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at approximately 4:48 P.M., deputies assigned to the San Jacinto Sheriff Station initiated a vehicle pursuit on a suspected impaired driver. The driver and sole occupant, later identified as Daniel George Hardesty (27 year-old Colorado resident) fled from law enforcement and drove in a reckless manner, including running stop signs and driving into on-coming traffic. Hardesty crashed into a street sign in the 900 block of East Florida Avenue, in the City of Hemet and was immediately taken into custody.
Hardesty was later transported to and booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility for felony evading and driving under the influence.
