Details:
On January 14, 2021, at 8:52 AM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to the area of Delphinium Avenue and Indian Street regarding a hit & run traffic collision. Witnesses reported seeing the driver flee from a vehicle and into the surrounding neighborhood.
When deputies arrived, it was discovered the vehicle had collided into a street light. It was also discovered the vehicle had been previously reported as stolen, earlier in the morning from the city of Moreno Valley.
A check of the neighborhood was conducted by responding deputies and a male matching the suspect description was located. The male, Joseph Gallo Mitchell, 28 years old, was later identified as the driver of the vehicle.
Mitchell was arrested for Vehicle Theft, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence (Drugs) and Violation of Probation. Mitchell was subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
