Temecula CA – Over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Southwest Station encourages drivers to arrive at their destinations safely by not driving impaired.
During the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 25-Nov.29, Southwest Station will have additional officers on patrol looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Officers will be actively looking for other unsafe driving practices – speeding, not wearing a seat belt, driving distracted – to make sure everyone has a safe holiday.
“We want everyone to safely enjoy the holidays and take care when they travel,” said Captain Zach Hall. “Do not drink and drive, follow the speed limit, ensure your vehicle is well-maintained, stay off your phone while driving and ensure everyone wears a seat belt. Doing these things will help keep you, your passengers, and others safe.”
The Southwest Station reminds drivers that a “DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze.” Prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs and marijuana can also impair, especially in combination with alcohol and other drugs.
