On Wednesday, November 18th, 2020, at 8:10 P.M., members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop in the 12000 block of Kitching Street, in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies contacted, Gabriel Sandoval, a 56-year-old resident of Moreno Valley.
Upon contacting Sandoval, deputies saw a loaded semi-automatic handgun in plain view inside of the vehicle. Sandoval was removed from the vehicle. Deputies discovered Sandoval was previously convicted of a felony prohibiting him from possessing a firearm. Deputies recovered a loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun from the vehicle.
Sandoval was taken into custody and charged with being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Concealed Firearm in a Vehicle, and Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Sandoval was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
