On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station responded to the 500 block of Quail Drive to investigate a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they located a deceased adult male who appeared to have been shot. The victim was later identified as Gustavo Morales, a 21 year old from Lake Elsinore. Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit and the Lake Elsinore Station were notified and have assumed the investigation.
On Thursday, October 15, 2020, Lake Elsinore deputies assigned to the Gang Task Force located the suspect, Noah Arath Buenrostro-Quartaro, a 19 year old from Lake Elsinore. Buenrostro was taken into custody without incident and was booked into jail for his role in Morales’ death.
