Details:

On October 14, 2020, The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department – Moreno Valley Station, in cooperation with the city of Moreno Valley’s Code Enforcement,  Public Works, and  Building and Safety Departments, conducted a rapid community clean-up event.  This event took place in the high-density housing areas near Adrienne Avenue and Courage Street.  Trash, debris, and abandoned vehicles created blockages and potential hazards in several alleyways . The alleyways, and the access they provide are vital for public safety resources responding to emergency situations in the community.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department strives to provide the highest level of service to the community.  One way to accomplish this goal is to ensure thoroughfares in the community are free from obstructions, thereby decreasing response times for  much needed emergency services.  As a result of these efforts, alleyways were left free from debris/obstructions, increased availability of parking spaces, and three rollaway dumpsters were filled with garbage and abandoned property.

Deputies participating the operation enjoyed engaging with members of the community and listening to concerns in their neighborhood.  We are hopeful these concerns will be addressed in full cooperation with members of the community. This operation was quick and successful due to the joint efforts from the various city departments, Sheriff’s Department resources and community members who assisted by removing trash from the location. Additional locations will be identified in the future and we look forward to improving our community together.
