On August 30, 2020, at 2:36 AM, Moreno Valley Station deputies were dispatched to the Circle K located in the 12000 block of Frederick St. city of Moreno Valley regarding a robbery. The victim stated a Black male adult, wearing black clothing, entered the store, racked a handgun and demanded money. After the victim complied with the suspect, the suspect immediately fled the location on foot and was not located. Members of the Moreno Valley Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) immediately began working the case and collecting items of evidentiary value.
Through the assistance of the public, as well as, the Moreno Valley Citywide Camera System, the suspect was identified as Davon Lawler (27) from the city of Perris. On September 9, 2020, RBST members located Lawler and arrested him without incident. The weapon used during the commission of the crime was also recovered. Lawler was later booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
