Jose Refugio Avila

Palm Desert Business District Team conducted further investigation regarding thefts to a retail store that occurred from July 21, 2020 to August 12, 2020, in the 73000 block of El Paseo, Palm Desert. The Business District Team identified Jose Refugio Avila, 28 of Highland, as the suspect involved in the thefts. On August 12, 2020, Avila was located on the 200 block of East Highland Ave., San Bernardino, and arrested for grand theft, possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a loaded firearm, and for an assault with a deadly weapon warrant. Avila was transported to the Riverside County Jail in Banning.
