On Monday, July 27, 2020, at 6:20 PM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the city of Calimesa, received a report of a shooting in the area of Singleton Road and Calimesa Blvd in Calimesa. The victim reported that she had been shot while driving in the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation revealed that the suspect, Dean Campa, had been stalking the victim and she identified him as the shooter.
Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Cabazon Station immediately assumed the investigation. On Tuesday, July 28, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Felony Warrant Enforcement Team (FWET), Campa was located and arrested in Los Angeles County.
Campa was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for attempt homicide and stalking charges.
