Details:
On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at 5:37 P.M., deputies from the Hemet Station responded to the 26000 Block of Katherine St., Hemet, in reference to a report of a missing person. Family members reported 73-year-old Rosario Garcia had left the residence in her vehicle, a gray 2016 Nissan Altima (8JNV980 Ca), to visit family in Hesperia. She was last seeing wearing a brown shirt, blue jeans, bracelets and gold rings. Garcia is 5’2, weights about 165 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. Family members reported Garcia is possibly suffering from Alzheimer’s and/or dementia. A Silver Alert was generated with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol.
On Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 11:46 A.M., deputies from the Palm Desert Station located Garcia’s abandoned vehicle near the 70100 Block of State Highway 74 in Mountain Center. Volunteers from the Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit and the Desert Search and Rescue Unit responded with Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Bloodhound and Aviation to the location of the recovered vehicle. A search of the area is currently being conducted.
