Details:

During the month of June 2020, deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, County Problem Oriented Policing Team, investigated information regarding a possible illegal marijuana cultivation occurring within the city of Lake Elsinore.

On June 12, 2020, at the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, deputies served a search warrant in the 50000 block of Ambridge Street. The location was converted into an illegal indoor marijuana cultivation site. Approximately 1,000 marijuana plants were located during the search warrant. Southern California Edison and City Code enforcement responded to the location and assumed their investigation. City Code enforcement deemed the house uninhabitable and issued a red tag to the residence due to unauthorized construction along with the illegal cultivation. Southern California Edison located an electrical bypass at the residence. Southern California Edison estimated a revenue loss of over $ 10,000 due to the illegal bypass. During the service of the search warrant, information was obtained that led to a second search warrant being served at the 7000 block of Jeanne Ann Circle, in the unincorporated area known as Eastvale.

On June 12, 2020, during the service of the second search warrant, Eric Wu (53 years old), was located inside the residence along with documentation in regards to the Ambridge Street residence. Eric Wu was arrested for the illegal grow and electrical bypass at the Ambridge Street residence. Eric Wuwas transported and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
