On Thursday, May 28th, 2020, at 8:53 P.M., members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Problem Oriented Policing Team conducted a traffic stop in the 24000 block of Elder Avenue, in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies contacted, Rashaad Waites, a 39-year-old resident of Hemet. Deputies determined Waites had a warrant for his arrest. A subsequent search of Waites revealed a loaded 380 caliber semi-automatic handgun on his person. Waites was taken into custody and charged with being a Felon in Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Under the Influence While in Possession of a Loaded Firearm.
