On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 7:11 P.M., members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Problem Oriented Policing Team conducted a vehicle stop in the 25000 block of Fir Avenue, in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies contacted Luis Miranda, a 25-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, inside the vehicle. Miranda advised he had a loaded firearm on his person. A subsequent search of Miranda’s person revealed a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Deputies determined Miranda was previously convicted of a felony. Miranda was taken into custody and charged with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Loaded Firearm and a Convicted Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
