On Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020, at 6:47 PM, deputies assigned to the Moreno Valley Station responded to the 23000 block of Hemlock Avenue, in the city of Moreno Valley, for an assault with a deadly weapon investigation. Deputies arrived and found three victims who were physically assaulted and unconscious. Medical aid was requested, and the victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of severe injuries. The suspects fled the area prior to the deputies arriving. The Moreno Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation and developed leads.

On Wednesday, May 20th, 2020, at 12:30 P.M., the Special Enforcement Team served search warrants in the 25000 block of Branding Iron Way and the 12000 block of Leahy Drive, in the city of Moreno Valley. During the service of the search warrants, deputies contacted and arrested three suspects. Vanessa Almanza, a 37-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, and two female juveniles, ages 16 and 12, also residing in the city of Moreno Valley. Additionally, numerous items of evidentiary value were located to include a fully automatic AK-47 rifle. Almanza was charged with Conspiracy to Commit an Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Child Endangerment. The two female juveniles were charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Almanza was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center and the two female juveniles were booked at the Riverside County Juvenile Hall.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Deputy Mark Hardin at (951) 486-6700.
