Details:
On April 28, 2020, at 10:00 AM, La Quinta deputies responded to a residential burglary/vehicle theft in the 53800 block of Ross Avenue, in the city of La Quinta. The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation and identified the suspect as James Harper, 28-years-old of La Quinta. The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team located Harper walking on Jefferson Street and Fred Waring Drive. Harper fled into a near-by neighborhood in the city of Indio. A perimeter was established with the assistance of the Indio Police Department. Harper was located hiding in the 43300 block of Heritage Palms Drive and taken into custody. It was also discovered Harper was in possession of a 10-inch knife, which is a violation of his parole terms. Harper was transported to a local hospital as a precaution and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
