Communities Served by the Moreno Valley Station
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department and the city of Moreno Valley entered into a contract for police services in 1985. It is referred to as both the Moreno Valley Station and the Moreno Valley Police Department.
The Sheriff's Department provides complete law enforcement to its estimated 180,000 population as the Moreno Valley Police Department. Officers wear the Sheriff's uniform with patches distinctive to the city, and the patrol units bear the city logo.
The city of Moreno Valley provides facilities within the city limits for the assigned personnel. The Moreno Valley Police Department is commanded by a Sheriff's Captain who acts as the Chief of Police and a department head for the city.

City of Moreno Valley Police
The Moreno Valley Police Department has a direct line for reporting non-emergency incidents in the Moreno Valley area such as fireworks, large parties and loud music (see above).
By calling this staffed twenty-four (24) hour non-emergency number, our dispatchers can more effectively assign police officers and keep the 911 system free for emergency calls. |
