Details:
On July 13, 2019 at 4:11 a.m., Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle collision that occurred at Cesar Chavez Street and Fourth Street in the city of Coachella. It was determined that a 17-year-old Hispanic female, resident of Indio, was driving northbound on Cesar Chavez and attempted to turn into a business parking lot. The juvenile was unable to negotiate the turn and the vehicle struck the business. The juvenile was medically treated at the scene with no apparent injury. No other injuries were reported. Minor damage to the business was discovered. Alcohol intoxication appears to be a factor in the collision.
The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Thermal Sheriff’s Station where she was subsequently released to family members.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department encourages all drivers not to drink and drive. To report drunk drivers, please call 911.
