On Saturday, January 27th, 2018, at about 3:17 PM, Officers from the Coachella Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Harrison St., South of Ave. 53.  The preliminary investigation determined a Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Harrison St., when it crossed northbound lanes colliding with a pedestrian on the east sidewalk. The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was immediately transported to a local area hospital.  Harrison St., south of Ave. 53 was closed for several hours while the collision was being investigated.  

Alcohol or drugs do not to appear to have been a factor in the collision. This investigation is ongoing and the Coachella Police Department Traffic Team is asking anyone with any information concerning this collision to contact Sergeant Juan Zamora of the Coachella Police Department at 760-863-8990.
